About Veritas Training
Veritas Training was founded on front-line statutory leadership and academic enquiry into child safeguarding systems. Based in Wokingham, we deliver CPD-accredited Family Group Conference (FGC) and restorative practice training designed to move beyond tick-box compliance and place families firmly at the heart of decision-making.

Our mission and statutory foundation
As an experienced statutory Team Manager, our founder observed first-hand how child protection practice struggles to build genuine partnerships with family networks. Following the 2022 reforms and the Public Law Outline (PLO), local authorities are legally mandated to offer Family Group Conferences, yet this duty all too often becomes a procedural formality.
Drawing on doctoral research titled Beyond "Lessons Will Be Learned": Accountability in Strategic Leadership Decision-Making for Child Safeguarding, our core mission recognises that lasting safety cannot simply be imposed upon families. Sustainable protection is achieved when professionals hold themselves accountable to working alongside extended networks, empowering them to design, agree, and own their workable safety plans.

Professional experience and core expertise
Veritas Training brings two decades of deep front-line and strategic leadership experience to the safeguarding and social care sector:
• 20 years of front-line practice in statutory child protection, court proceedings, and complex casework.
• 13 years of team management leading local authority Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH), Duty & Assessment, Court, and Child Protection teams.
• Advanced core qualifications including a Master’s in Social Work (MSW), certified FGC Coordinator credentials, and ongoing PhD research into safeguarding accountability.
• Accomplished workforce trainer delivering local authority programmes in child safeguarding and reflective supervision.
• Unrivalled statutory authority across the Children Act 1989, Section 47 enquiries, and Public Law Outline (PLO) requirements.

How Veritas empowers practice and transforms legal outcomes
Our courses equip professionals to overcome family attrition, addressing the sector-wide challenge where only 53% of referrals reach a conference. By embedding the 7 Family Rights Group (FRG) Quality Standards and conducting realistic mock conferences, we prepare practitioners to deliver independent, audit-ready coordination.
For local authorities, our training delivers measurable impact in legal proceedings: demonstrating true impartiality to courts and Children's Guardians, satisfying the PLO by exploring kinship options before care orders, evidencing the child's authentic voice, and presenting robust, SMART family safety plans that serve as viable alternatives to care proceedings.
"Let us learn from families to support their children."
